Logo and Branding

The client directed us to use the name "King" in the logo design as the word reflects the prestige of the area and the name of the town – King City. Based on this restriction, we sought to create a logo that was easy to identify but also created a high-end feeling that was indicative of the inherently high-end surrounding area. We delved into the history of the community and discovered that in addition to a strong agricultural background that thrived to this day, there are still a significant number of prestigious equestrian farms, riding schools and stables in the area. In fact, King City had been named the "Kentucky of the North" for its equestrian heritage. Therefore our logo design features a stylized thoroughbred horse that conveyed artistic simplicity but also tied in the client’s request and the history of the area.

Print Package

US NAHB Silver Award Winner: Best Brochure
US NAHB Silver Award Winner: Best Graphic Continuity

Subtle design touches like die-cut pages and embossed logos on the cover helped achieve a sophisticated feeling. Two product specific brochures were created, which allowed the builder to save on printing as it allowed the sales agents to only distribute brochures that met the prospect’s needs. Unlike local competitors, all floor plans were bound into the brochure to create a more elegant package with easier handling and viewing by the customer.

Onsite Signage

US NAHB Silver Award Winner: Best Signage
BILD Award Winner: Best Signage

The stylized horse design from the site logo was the primary image used on signage, along with the detailed green background from the brochure cover. This allowed traffic to easily identify the site as they drove by. At the entrance to the sales centre, a large 8' metal horse statue was erected to symbolize the prestige of the new site and to help attract the intended target market.

Retail Space

US NAHB Silver Award Winner: Best Sales Office

The builder required visitors to be grouped and led through a complete presentation of the community and the product. Therefore, the lobby utilized sliding barn-style doors that allowed agents to control the flow of traffic into the presentation area. Groups entered through the left side doors into the community area with a video presentation and detailed topographic scale model. The presentation then flowed into the product area, with a digital site plan table that allowed visitors to view their desired lot with their home sited and e-mail themselves a detailed siting. For those that purchased, a décor area was incorporated to facilitate upgrade sales along with a high-end kitchen vignette. A special area was set up for purchasers to take a 3D virtual walkthrough of their home to select and view upgrades. The sales centre embodies high-end homes and community prestige with hardwood floors, and rich maple-clad columns and accents.
